Progressive Wine Tasting in Columbia Helps Restore Downtown, Oct. 17
We don’t know about you, but when we think of downtown Columbia’s Main Street we picture old-world charm with unique retail and dining establishments. Next Thursday, Oct. 17 Main Street will host a community-centered event that goes along with that vintage aesthetic. Join us for “Uncorked On Main Street,” a progressive event featuring numerous wines, culinary delights and live entertainment at various downtown locations…. including Puckett’s in Columbia!
The wine-tasting event on Oct. 17 kicks off at the Puckett’s front entrance at 15 Public Square on the historic circle, and lasts from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event will also cap off with attendees enjoying live music on Puckett’s center stage!
Tickets to the event are $40 in advance and $45 at the door, and are available for purchase at 8 Public Square, or at Puckett’s.
The culinary and wine adventure will benefit Columbia Main Street, and will fund the organization’s efforts to revitalize and promote its historic downtown district. The group says it has plans to continue to coordinate events such as Uncorked on Main Street to further gain community support around the movement.
Entertainment for the evening will include live performances by acclaimed artists DeeAnn Dominy and Carrie Zaruba. Dominy is an award-winning country-rock singer/songwriter, and Zaruba is one of Country Music Association’s “Top Rising Artists” of 2013.
The nine tastings sites are The Old Curiosity Book Shop, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, Variety Records, The Balloon Shop, Accents and Antiques, Wall Candy, aMuse’um Columbia Children’s Museum, Caledonian Financial, and Shred, Etc.
The event concludes with a “Last Call at Puckett’s” that will feature the 2 Country 4 Nashville band at 8 p.m.
Sponsors of the event include Lipman, First Farmers and Puckett’s Grocery & Restaurant.
