The Final Countdown: Mission H2O

IMG_0518 We have one week left (where in the world has August gone?) to reach our Mission H2O campaign goal! Through August 31st, diners at our 5th & Church location will have the option to add a donation of $1 or more to the total of their bill. For each dollar donated, two water bottles will be given to Nashville Rescue Mission.

Our parent company, A. Marshall Family Foods, will match all donations in an effort to make an even larger impact for the Mission and the Nashville homeless community.

Our amazing customers and community supporters, like Propak and SunTrust Private Wealth Management, have allowed us to donate more than 13,000 water bottles to the Mission thus far!

The water bottles are supplied by Kimbro Water Company, who is generous enough to take on a partial sponsorship to lower the cost of the bottles — allowing us to give back even more. Kimbro delivers the water to the Mission on a weekly basis to continue fulfilling that crucial need during one of the hottest months of the year.

“We’ve seen a tremendous amount of community support, and I’m optimistic that we’ll be able to reach our ambitious goal,” said Rachel Layton, director of marketing for A. Marshall Family Foods. “We’ve been lucky enough to have several local sponsors, like Propak, contribute to the campaign as we make the final push to meet our goal of 25,000 bottles. We’re so grateful to have their support for such a worthy cause.”

Nashville Rescue Mission is dedicated to helping the hungry, homeless, and hurting, and offers programs that focus on spiritual growth, education, employment, and life-recovery. The Mission aims to give members of the community hope for today, hope for tomorrow, and hope for eternity.

Y’all come on in, eat delicious food for a great cause, and help us reach our goal!

Call us biased (nahhh!) but it’s like we always say: our restaurants are not only great places to eat, but they’re also GREAT places to work! With our company’s newest venture, Deacon’s New South, comin’ down the pike for late fall, we’re seeking energetic, friendly, talented folks to join our team more than ever. We love to train up our great employees and give them opportunities to grow (whether they stay at the same restaurant their whole career, or move around to one of our other locations!) and getting a foot in the door at one our existing concepts is a great place to start! (Click here for our current open positions.)

We sat down with three of our original team members who have been with us since the early days to share their favorite memories and sentiments about working for A. Marshall Family Foods. Claire Crowell, Pam Stringer and Doris Stringer started serving up Puckett’s favorites at the first Puckett’s Gro. & Restaurant in Franklin and 11 years later, they’re still doin’ what they love and lovin’ what they do!

At A. Marshall Family Foods, we pride ourselves on being a family, one that extends across all locations and restaurants. In fact, Claire is the COO of A. Marshall Family Foods and Andy Marshall’s daughter. Pam and Doris are a mother/daughter duo who consider themselves honorary members of the Marshall family!

With Deacon’s New South on the way, there has never been a better time to join our team. Check out what Claire, Pam and Doris have to say about keepin’ it all in the (A. Marshall) family!

We are so proud to announce that A. Marshall Family Foods has earned recognition by Inc. magazine as one of America’s fastest-growing companies for the fourth year in a row! Our family-owned, middle Tennessee restaurant and hospitality company — which began as a small local grocery store in the 1990s — has grown to now include eight restaurants, two ice cream shops and a food truck, with a ninth restaurant concept — a steakhouse called Deacon’s New South — opening later this fall.

“It is exciting and a great honor to be included on this list among so many industry greats and other private companies across the state and country,” said Andy Marshall, A. Marshall Family Foods’ CEO. “We’ve had some unbelievable opportunities to expand our brand throughout the years and are grateful to our team and customers for continuing to support our existing concepts and welcoming new ones.”

A. Marshall Foods has experienced a three-year revenue growth of 80 percent and has expanded from 437 employees in 2013 to 688 by the end of 2016! According to Inc., A. Marshall is the third fastest-growing company in the food and beverage industry in Tennessee.

“The Inc. 5000 is the most persuasive evidence I know that the American Dream is still alive,” said Inc. President and Editor-In-Chief Eric Schurenberg. “The founders and CEOs of the Inc. 5000 tell us they think determination, risk taking, and vision were the keys to their success, and I believe them.”

In addition to Puckett’s Gro. & Restaurant locations in Franklin, Nashville, Columbia, Chattanooga and Murfreesboro, Tenn., Puckett’s Boat House and Puckett’s Trolley, A. Marshall Family Foods owns and operates four more restaurants and hospitality concepts in middle Tennessee. Homestead Manor, an antebellum property with its own restaurant, event venue and farm in Thompson’s Station, opened in 2015. Scout’s Pub in the Franklin community of Westhaven and Hattie Jane’s Creamery in downtown Columbia were opened in summer 2016, and a second Hattie Jane’s opened in March 2017 in Murfreesboro. This fall, Deacon’s New South — a modern, Southern steakhouse — will open in the historic L&C Tower at the corner of Church St. and 4th Ave. N. in downtown Nashville.
