Puckett’s Hero Day, feat. Disney & Marvel Favorites

Our Spidey senses are tingling….

Because we’re inviting YOU and a couple of our favorite characters from Disney and Marvel Comics to spend an evening with us at our Puckett’s Restaurant in Franklin this coming Sunday, November 15, from 4-6 p.m.

That’s right, y’all—we just can’t Let it Go! Your favorite ice queen (Elsa, of course!) will be here along with her friends Rapunzel, Ariel and even Spiderman.

Treat your little heroes to a night they won’t forget. This magical night only costs $30 per family (up to four members total) and includes supper, photo opportunities and live entertainment from Disney’s best.

Our special guests will perform skits and songs from our favorite movies and is guaranteed to please Disney and Marvel lovers of all ages.

Tropical Turkey Day — First Thanksgiving at the Boat House!

Who says turkeys can’t be tropical? Not us — for the first time ever, the Boat House is opening its doors on Thanksgiving day to give you a Gulf-inspired holiday feast!

In addition to our usual to-go menu options that feature turkey + all the trimmings with a seafood twist, we’re inviting our guests to dine at our table this year from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thanksgiving.

Leave the stress and kitchen mess at home and spend quality time with your family members and loved ones while feasting on all of your holiday favorites (plus a few Boat House specialties!) including roasted turkey, spiral ham, cajun fried chicken, shrimp cocktail, oyster dressing, cornbread dressing, traditional sides, and a dessert station featuring maple pecan pie, pumpkin pie, chocolate cakes and cookies! What We’re Gobblin’ About: Thanksgiving Supper + To-Go Orders

Your Thanksgiving planning, prepping and cleanup just got a whole lot easier: All four Puckett’s Gro. & Restaurant locations are giving you back time spent with your family by offering extensive dine-in and take-out options this holiday season!

The downtown Chattanooga, Columbia, Franklin and Nashville locations will be open Thanksgiving Day—11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Franklin and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Chattanooga, Columbia and Nashville—for our Puckett’s friends and families to enjoy an all-you-can-eat lunch buffet with the traditional fixin’s: sliced turkey, honey smoked ham, fried chicken and pulled pork, and all of Puckett’s famous sides with fresh-baked pie to top it all off.

Our owner, Andy Marshall, always says we open our doors on the national holiday in keeping with the Puckett’s spirit of community. 

“This time of year is about spending time with family, and we consider our neighbors and customers an extension of that,” he says. “Thanksgiving is a holiday we look forward to each year to share a home-cooked meal with our loved ones, and we’re excited to continue the tradition for another season.”

In addition to the eat-in options, we’re also offerin’ an extensive holiday to-go menu, with options such as whole turkeys roasted, smoked or fried; smoked buffet hams slow-cooked in our tried ‘n’ true smokers; cherry-smoked pulled pork; smoked racks of baby back ribs; and more.

Expect the same made-from-scratch dishes that you can find at any of our stores. Many of the classics are old Marshall family recipes that have been handed down over the years.

“Most of these dishes have been served on the Marshall family Thanksgiving table for years,” says Andy. “It made sense that we would share them on the Puckett’s table as well.

And it would be a shame if we didn’t mention the sides! That’s right—Puckett’s specialities like cornbread stuffing, green bean casserole, corn pudding, sweet potato casserole, giblet gravy, yeast rolls and more, along with our famous homemade pies and cobblers.

Y’all have probably heard that story that when Puckett’s first opened, Andy would wake up each morning before the sun to slow smoke his award-winning barbecue. Come Thanksgiving, whole turkeys would take the place of barbecue in the smoker and the whole Marshall family would pitch in.

Inviting the community to join us around our table is a time-honored tradition that we hope to continue year after year.

The all-inclusive Thanksgiving buffet is $27.50, and $13.75 for those 12 and under at the Columbia, Franklin and Nashville locations, and $26.99 and $12.99 for those 12 and under at the Chattanooga location. Mama’s Apple Pecan Pie

Nothing says “fall” more than a good, old-fashioned apple or pecan pie. To kick off the season, we’re sharing our award-winning recipe that combines both of these seasonal favorites!

Don’t have time to cook? Don’t fret—we’ve got y’all covered. Come by any Puckett’s location during the month of November and order a whole pie for $16.99, or a single slice for $4.99.

Whether your enjoying a slice made fresh by us around our table or you whip up one yourself, now is the perfect time to indulge in this classic American dessert. Apples are in season, it’s cold outside and a nice hot slice of apple pie will warm you right up!

Our Puckett’s 5th & Church server, Taylor Ann, won the Family Fun Day contest with this recipe, and we just can’t wait for y’all to try it!

Mama’s Apple Pecan Pie

Pie Filling

4 cups sliced peeled tart apples
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup chopped spiced pecans
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
3 tablespoons sugar
4-1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/4 cup caramel ice cream topping, room temperature 1 unbaked pastry shell (9 inches)
3 tablespoons butter, melted

Streusel Topping

3/4 cup all-purpose flour 2/3 cup chopped pecans 1/4 cup sugar
6 tablespoons cold butter
1/4 cup caramel ice cream topping, room temperature

Directions

In a large bowl, toss apples with lemon juice and vanilla. Combine the pecans, sugars, cinnamon and cornstarch; add to apple mixture and toss to coat. Pour caramel topping over bottom of pastry shell; top with apple mixture (shell will be full). Drizzle with butter.

In a small bowl, combine the flour, pecans and sugar. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle over filling.

Bake at 350° for 55-65 minutes or until filling is bubbly and topping is browned. Immediately drizzle with caramel topping. Cool on a wire rack.

That’s right—just pull up the Puckett’s Weekly (here) and enjoy a free cobbler at any Puckett’s Gro. & Restaurant in downtown Franklin, downtown Chattanooga, downtown Nashville and downtown Columbia or a free pie at Puckett’s Boat House.

For those of you who are too excited for an evening of trick or treating to even think about dinner, we’ll also be handing out candy at all locations throughout the night.
