HERE AT AMFF, FAMILY IS WHAT IT’S ALL ABOUT!

img_0241We here at A. Marshall Family Foods know that one of the most important things in life is family. Heck, the word is even in our company name! So we were thrilled to have all our employees take the afternoon off recently and bring their loved ones to Homestead Manor for our Family Fun Day!

Each of our restaurants pitched in and provided tasty foods — we’re talkin’ hamburgers, hot dogs, mac & cheese, pulled pork (we’re Puckett’s, after all!) — and we’re pretty positive not a single person left hungry. Of course, it’s not a summer party without homemade ice cream, and it sure was a treat to have ice cream from Hattie Jane’s Creamery to top off all the delicious food.

Did we mention the activities? Several brave souls volunteered to get in the dunking booth (we suspect the ice cold water felt pretty good after spending some time outside), but our CEO Andy Marshall’s participation was probably the most popular spectacle of the day. We don’t have photographic evidence, but trust us, it was just as entertaining to watch as it sounds!

Now, we always like to spark a little friendly competition between our restaurants, so we put a bartender from each location’s skills to the test and let the crowd vote on who made the best cocktail. Bragging rights were given to Ryan Donahue from Homestead Manor, whose “Farmer Joe’s Apple Sippy” won first prize.

We are so fortunate to work with an amazing team of talented, compassionate and intelligent people and were so glad to spend a late summer afternoon with them and their families! You can check out more pics from the day on Homestead Manor’s Facebook.

Kickin’ the “Scrub Deal” Up a Notch: Chattanooga Nurses Breakfast Monday, Sept. 12

0907160843e

Here’s a fun tidbit for ya about our Chattanooga location…we LOVE our local nurses! If you’re up at the crack of dawn to visit us, you’re likely to see a handful of nurses from Erlanger, Parkview or Memorial squeezing in some well-deserved relaxation after a long night shift.

Max Stephenson, our Chattanooga GM, started seeing so many nurses come in the restaurant that he began giving them what he affectionately refers to as the “scrub deal”–mimosas at the happy hour price.

Max & the Puckett’s crew noticed lots of regulars come in after their third shifts, and they wanted to do something special for a group of people constantly putting others before themselves. The Nurses Breakfast was created, and it will take place from 7 to 10 a.m. on Monday, September 12!

“It’s an honor to have nurses choosing to spend their time with us after getting off such an exhausting shift,” Max said. “We’ve really gotten to know a lot of them over time, and we’re very excited to be able to spoil them a little bit with this special breakfast!”

Nurses who come in on Monday wearing scrubs will be treated to tunes by Chattanooga native Courtney Holder from 8 to 9 a.m.–we’ll also have a $5 breakfast buffet and specially priced cocktails.

Please help us spread the word, Chattanoogans!

PUCKETT’S NASHVILLE WILL LAUNCH SECOND “MISSION H2O” CAMPAIGN ON AUGUST 1ST

With temperatures often soaring above 90 degrees, it is safe to say that August is the hottest month in Nashville. In weather like that, staying hydrated is crucial, but for many in Nashville’s homeless community, it can be hard to do. That is why we at Puckett’s 5th & Church are thrilled to be teaming up again with the Nashville Rescue Mission for “Mission H2O,” a project that provides water to Nashville’s homeless community.

Last year, we collected over 10,000 water bottles, supplied by Kimbro Water Company, for the Mission. With the help of our customers, we know we can do even better this year, so we’ve decided to raise our goal to 15,000 bottles!

Kimbro sources and packages the water bottles locally in Pall Mall, Tenn. and we are very grateful for their partnership as we launch this campaign for the second year in a row.

“We feel very strongly about Mission H2O, and we want to help Puckett’s impact the community in a big way,” Matthew Neary, sales and marketing manager for Kimbro Water Company, said.

From August 1st to August 31st, Puckett’s diners will have the option of adding an extra dollar or two to their bill. For each dollar, two bottles of water will be donated to the Mission. In addition, our parent company, A. Marshall Family Foods Inc. will match the amount donated by our guests.

The Nashville Rescue Mission is dedicated to helping the hungry and homeless, and offers programs that focus on spiritual growth, education, employment and life-recovery. The Mission aims to give members of the community hope for today, hope for tomorrow, and hope for eternity. Help us, along with the Nashville Rescue Mission, spread love and care this August to those who need it the most in our community!
